How much does Airvet cost?
There are three options for virtual consults:
- Start an On-Demand video call: $49
On-demand calls have a flat fee of $49 USD and have absolutely no time limit on the call. This will connect you with the first available veterinarian who may or may not be your primary veterinarian. Your case will stay open for 72 hours during which you can follow-up by chat with the same vet who answered your call with no additional fees. - Request a virtual appointment with primary veterinarian: Fee set by your vet
The fee for a case request is set by your veterinarian. This option is only available if your primary veterinarian is on Airvet and is typically used for non-urgent matters. You can select your primary veterinarian who will call or message you back as soon as they’re available. - Become an Airvet member
For just $30/month you can become an Airvet member which includes unlimited 24/7 video calls, and access to a $3,000 life-saving emergency fund. Rest easy knowing that your pet family is prepared for anything that may come your way.
By starting an on-demand call or submitting a case request, you are authorizing the payment hold until the case is complete.
Where is Airvet available?
Airvet is available in the United States and Canada.
Can an Airvet vet prescribe medications?
The laws around pet prescriptions actually depend on the state that you live in. Many states will require your pet to be seen in person by the veterinarian before they can prescribe any medications.
If your primary veterinarian is on Airvet, it’s best to connect with them through the app directly to discuss your prescription needs. To find out if your primary veterinarian is on Airvet, follow the steps HERE.
If your primary veterinarian is not on Airvet, our veterinarians can still provide valuable advice, but may be unable to prescribe medications if they have not seen your pet in person.
What is the value in Airvet?
One of the biggest values in talking to a real veterinarian is that you'll get information you can trust. Getting guidance and advice from a licensed veterinarian typically leads to better medical outcomes for pets, and helps bring comfort and peace of mind to pet owners. In many situations, pet owners just need help understanding the urgency of their situation, and what the right options are for care.
When should I use Airvet?
Airvet is there for you anytime you have questions about your pet or need peace of mind. You can discuss anything from emergency triage, nutrition, and behavior, to basic health questions and general medical advice. If searching for answers from random people on the internet feels like a weird way to care for your pets, it’s probably because it is!
